Illustration services include both hand drawn and computer based artwork. Specific projects include children's book illustrations, greeting cards, wedding invitations, posters and screen print art. Illustration is also a strong component in many packaging design projects and logos we have developed.
Below are some examples of illustration focused projects.
Everything Talks: You Just Have to Know How to Listen is the second book for children that I’ve illustrated. As the title suggests, the book is about sounds in the world around us. The goal of each illustration is to help evoke the featured sound visually. Color, layout and incorporation of text into the illustration were all key to giving each page it’s sound.
Here in Asheville the book is available from Spellbound Children’s Bookshop and will soon be available at many other locations.
The book is published by Back of a Mouse Books, a division of Blue Throat Publishing.
Some pages from the book are shown below.
It has been a pleasure working with Kimberly of Essential Journeys as her business has grown over the years. Initially, I worked with her on refining her logo and creation of marketing materials for her Soap By the Slice line. Now she has multiple products and luckily for me they all need graphics.
One of my favorite items to work on has been the labels for her lotions. Bold colors + illustration focus = happy design time.
I love finding the colors that speak to the lotion flavor, be it Lavender Morning, Almond Spa, Zinnia & Gardenia, or White Tea & Ginger. Added to these initial four are Chai Tea,
Thai Lemongrass, Purely Naked (unscented), and my favorite Grapefruit Splash.
All lotions are available in 8 oz. and 16 oz. sizes, with a select few also available in a 2 oz. travel size.
Check our the Essential Journeys website for ordering lotions, Soap By the Slice, Lube for the Lips and more.
