Design for Print

Print design services include catalog layout, menu design, brochures, rack cards, sales tools, multi-page booklets, posters, books and maps. We offer full-service print design development, including production file preparation and printer interaction. We can also put together a team of experts for your project to include writers and photographers.

Below are some examples of our design work for print.

Just Ducky Spring 2011 Catalog

For the Spring 2011 Just Ducky catalog we went to a 8″ x 10″ format. This enabled us to include some larger photos! Throughout the catalog clothing is shown either on models or as flats. Flats can be a great way to clearly show the front/back views of a garment, but of course everyone’s favorite images are the model shots. Cute, cute, and cuter.

For any of you that have tried to take photos that include a number of children, you know it is near impossible to have every child smiling in each photo. Professional shoots are no different, but through Photoshop magic (where magic=detailed work by yours truly) heads, bodies, or faces can be swapped to arrive at a photo that is, well, picture perfect!

As we near the YWCA Stand Against Racism day on April 29, 2011 it seems appropriate to post some images from the poster project I worked on in celebration of 100 years of the YWCA in Asheville.

As part of their centennial celebration, the YWCA in Asheville gathered information and images to make a series of posters commemorating the important work they have done and continue to do in our community to eliminate racism and empower women.

In total eleven posters were made.
The areas of focus were:

  • E.Thelma Caldwell & the YWCA Boosters
  • The Central YWCA in Asheville, Where it All Began
  • Nurturing Children
  • Eliminating Racism in Asheville
  • Eliminating Racism at the YWCA
  • Health & Wellness
  • General History of the YWCA
  • History of the Phyllis Wheatley Branch
  • History of the South French Broad Avenue Location
  • Guiding Teens
  • Empowering Women

The two posters on Eliminating Racism are shown above as examples. I encourage you to click on the images for larger pdf views so you can read the copy (please note, poster copy and images are copyright to the YWCA). For more information on the YWCA in Asheville, please visit their site at http://ywcaofasheville.org/

Thank you for taking a Stand Against Racism.
